Why travel with us?

Leadership

Our treks are led by professional trek leaders, who are experienced and knowledgeable about the trek they are leading. On selected treks we appoint qualified UK leaders to accompany the group (for example, on K2 Base Camp and Kilimanjaro via the Umbwe Route).

Pre-trip training

We offer a free pre-trek training weekend in the Peak District, UK to help you prepare for your trek. We run more technical training course in Wales, Scotland and the Alps, relevant to some of our tougher treks.

Dedicated staff

We are a small independent company. Our staff are all active hill walkers, trekkers and mountaineers. We’re able to advise you about any of our treks.

More Acclimatisation = More Success

Our starting point when designing any itinerary is the ascent profile and ensuring that you have enough time to acclimatise naturally.

Kilimanjaro - Umbwe Route

I just wanted to take some time to reflect on my trip before offering up some feedback to you. On our last day we sat around and asked each other if we had to pick one word to sum up our trip, what would it be. My word of choice was “Unforgettable”. The trip to me was unforgettable for many reasons, in part however down to the seamless and faultless organisation of the trip as well as the expertise, friendliness and high spirits of the Tanzanian team. At no point were we left questioning or wondering what we were doing, we were always in the know which I think for a trip like that goes a long way because there’s aspects you can’t expect. Special mention to Kasim our guide who journeyed the Meru and Kilimanjaro climbs with us. He is phenomenal and a true asset. Thank you for facilitating this truly incredible experience.

Manaslu Circuit

I've just come back from the Manaslu Circuit trip in Nepal and, in short, it was as a good a trek as it's possible to imagine! It was also very well organised, with excellent accommodation throughout and outstanding staff on the ground in Nepal. This was my fifth trip with Jagged Globe and I there's no doubt it won't be my last. Now where shall I go in 2025.....?

Kilimanjaro - Umbwe Route

My son (15) and I did a mt meru and Kilimanjaro via the Umbwe route with Jagged Globe and their local partner Keyes Hotel. The planning, organising and execution was faultless. The instructions pre trip were helpful and concise and the service on the ground, from the hotel accommodation to the guides (Bosco and Moses) and porter team was first class. A further special mention must be given to Bosco and Moses from Keyes, they were the two best guides I’ve ever had. Their care, skills and fitness levels were remarkable. The whole porter team was brilliant. Miranda from Keyes hotel also made our stay at the hotel outstanding. My thanks to the Jagged Globe team and their partners.

Mardi Himal

The trip was a wonder! The scenery, the variety of trekking, the adventure side of it, the food, people in it. No many teams are going there, track is not overcrowded. The physical demand is horrendous, but it worth every effort.
Did not like camping in it , but there were no lodges on a treck. Have to be prepare for a cold, but it unavoidable in altitude. In the end of a trek it was clear that it was difficult trail, days of walking (overlond), but it helped an acclimatization. Overall : highly recommended and desirable trip, you might consider.
The leader Simon Lowe was amasing ! Thank you for your care and pictures! Thanks Jagged Globe! We will meet again!:-)

Everest Base Camp Trek

Within the limitations of Nepal my wife and I could not fault the attention and services provided by all the team; I appreciate there is much that goes on behind the scene unseen and I am truly grateful to Jagged Globe in ensuring our safety, and making sure that our collective experience of the trek was the best it could have been. I think I have said all that is needed to be said. I am grateful that Pema was able to feedback any problems in 'real time', and his team figure our any needed solutions for the welfare of all of us. What an experience!

Huayhuash Circuit Trek

We has Saul Luciano as our guide. He is a lovely fellow, a pretty good English-speaker and very keen to learn more of the language. I cannot fault his performance on this trip.
The cook was Humberto (Saul’s uncle) who did a great job. I do not think I have had better food on any trek that I can remember, so much so that I lost no weight at all which is unusual! The caballero/donkey wrangler was very helpful and personable despite speaking only Quechua. This was my 4th Jagged Globe trip and all have been excellently run.

K2 Base Camp Trek

The itinerary worked very well with well placed rest days and appropriate level of challenge. Would be worth stressing in itinerary that descent days are still tough days and probably some of the toughest days as they are the longest and some of the hottest. The itinerary seemed to work best of the other groups we met up with. The local staff were very keen to make our experience as positive as possible with all members doing their job superbly in often difficult circumstances. The UK guide was an excellent team member and worked well with the in-country team to get things right for us. The cook was receptive to suggestions for fine tuning as the trek progressed.

Rush Peak and The Hunza Valley

I wasn't disappointed with the Karakoram with its stunning scenery. The trek went well, as I would have expected with our very experienced leader David! Crossing the glaciers was more challenging than I expected but added to the adventure. The weather was cloudy on the summit of Rush Peak, which was a little disappointing that we missed the views but we can't help the weather! The camps were good and all the local guides and staff were excellent. I would highly recommend this trek to any of your future clients. Thanks to you both and Jagged Globe for organizing and providing the excellent communication in the time leading up to the trip.

Professional and Fun!

Professional and fun at the same time. I have been with Jagged Globe on a number of trips now ranging from Scottish winter mountaineering, to rock climbing in Wales and mountaineering in the Alps. All of them were great. Dealt with the people in the office a number of times, always very efficient and friendly. The mountain instructors are very experienced, take the mountains super serious but are great fun at the same time. Group numbers are kept small enough to make sure you have the full attention of the instructors, yet still big enough to have a good atmosphere as well. Logistics are well looked after, and the Haute Route which has quite some logistics to it, ran like clockwork. Looking forward to head out into the very big mountains (Himalayas) with them next year.

Annapurna Circuit and Everest Base Camp

We have traveled twice with Jagged Globe to Nepal to complete the Annapurna Circuit and the Everest Base Camp Trek. Both trips were excellent. Jagged Globe have experienced and knowledgeable guides on the ground and their UK based team are friendly and very helpful. Sadly we had to cancel a trip at short notice this year because of medial reasons and Jagged Globe were supportive and professional. A true test of a business is when things don't go according to plan and Jagged Globe were brilliant when we had to cancel. Professionally planned itineraries, brilliant local guides and great care taken over the welfare of the local teams. I cannot speak highly enough of them and would not hesitate to use them again. These trips are 'once in a lifetime' experiences and I believe travelling with Jagged Globe makes sure you get the maximum possible chance of success and enjoyment. Worth every penny!
